Thursday- the long drive to Nairobi and the Giraffe Sanctuary
Thursday 27th July
After the 3 hour journey to Nairobi we headed to the Giraffe
Sanctuary. We visited the giraffe sanctuary in the afternoon where it was
surprisingly empty which meant we were able to get extremely close to the
giraffes and were able to feed and see the giraffes for a decent time which was
great. Many of the group fed the giraffes the free food which was supplied by
the sanctuary and enjoyed taking pictures with the giraffes. We were there for
just over an hour and many bought souvenirs. All the money goes towards the
funds for the giraffe sanctuary which many found pleasing.
After final funds were spent at the gift shop we headed across a very busy and hectic Nairobi to our home for the night. The city was impressive and heaving with life. The buildings and familiar brands made the city like most others but the people and sheer volume of activity reminded us we were still in Kenya. After navigating the busy city we finally arrived at our hotel. After checking in we headed to our rooms where we spent the rest of the evening re-packing and getting some important zzzz's ready for the final long journey tomorrow. Cant believe its been two weeks already....time does fly when you're having fun.
